Our client is an established Wealth Management firm providing Investment Management and Financial Planning to private clients, institutions, trustees and charties. They are rapidly growing and are looking for an experienced Investment Manager within their London office.
Managing client investment portfolios on a discretionary or advisory basis for both private and non-private customers;
Performing functions within the Investment Advisor CF30 for both managed and advisory clients.
Retain clients and develop and grow assets under management.
Identify, prospect and develop clients
Work closely in conjunction with marketing staff and colleagues to identify prospective clients.
Establish relationships and work closely with financial planning colleagues to identify investment management or financial planning opportunities where appropriate to clients needs and requirements.
Solicit business opportunities from prospective clients in an appropriate manner.
Engage and participate in investment meetings and assist the investment team in discussions regarding investment strategy.
Review and assess client needs utilising acceptable Know Your Client principles and the Investment Strategy Assessment Tool.
Ensure effective and appropriate communication is established and maintained including: contact by personal meetings, telephone, post and email.
Ensure written communications are consistent and complies with agreed internal standards.
Recommend suitable investment strategies based on client needs, attitudes to risk and understanding of investment, market and other factors. Ensure these recommendations are consistent with the investment process and suitability recorded.
Utilising the tools outlined above and our investment practice, devise portfolio recommendations in accordance with stated client objectives.
Ensure adherence to the approved and buy lists of securities.
Ensure adherence to the appropriate investment strategy benchmark models and review portfolios in a timely manner to migrate transferred portfolios to the appropriate models.
Continually review client needs, priorities, objectives, and expectations ensure that recommendations remain suitable to the client's needs on an ongoing basis. If changes are warranted these should be documented in client correspondence.
Exercise discretionary investment authority for client investment portfolios where client mandate exists.
Risk Management and Compliance
Ensure familiarity with both industry and firm policies and procedures governing the conduct of their business.
Assist in development of other less experienced members of the team; offer appropriate guidance and mentoring where required.
Implement best practice for client fact finding, asset allocation and investment products.
Maintain competence in product information, investment skills and industry regulation
Undertake and training and examinations as required and maintain appropriate CPD record.
