Accounts Assistant - Slough

We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to work within our well established Slough office reporting directly to Managing Partners. The position will be to work with our clients and provide support with bookkeeping, management accounts, year end accounts and assist with management of outsourcing processes.

The Accounts Assistant duties will be:

  • Working closely with clients to ensure accurate bookkeeping is carried out
  • Sales ledger and purchase ledger processing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Invoicing
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Month end and year end processing
  • Journals - both preparing and processing
  • Preparation of month end report
  • Preparation of summary (quarterly) management accounts and commentary
  • Preparing year end accounts
  • Preparing accounts to trial balance including all reconciliations
  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts
  • Managing outsourcing processes and communication
  • Ability to manage outsourcing of work to third party including co-ordination of processes, management of overall delivery, review of output and time scheduling


  • Previous experience as an accounts assistant within an accounting firm
  • Experience of dealing with clients directly
  • Knowledge of Sage Accounts 50 required, Iris , Kashflow and Xero preferred
  • Skills in Microsoft Excel and Word necessary


  • Qualified to AAT level or equivalent as a minimum
